Prepress

Amos Communications stays current in all prepress software and computer hardware. Our operators are proficient with popular page layout and photo editing software and our artist is professionally trained with a college degree in Graphic Communications. This means that our customers know we can efficiently work with the files they create and can provide artwork support when required. Our latest software allows for “shopping cart” style on-line ordering, on-line electronic file transfer and even on-line proofing. These capabilities make the project submission process as efficient as possible and reduce the time necessary to produce projects that require fast delivery.

Printing

Amos Communications has been dedicated to 100% waterless printing since 1996. As one of only a few waterless printing companies in the United States, Amos Communications is capable of producing the highest level of quality in the most environmentally friendly manner possible. By eliminating water from the printing process we allow for faster press make-readies, less paper waste, and the most consistent color throughout the length of print runs. Our 40” six color press means that large format or high page-count book projects can be produced efficiently alongside smaller projects on our 28” seven color press.

Digital printing

Digital printingcapabilities mean that short run or variable data projects can also be produced. This allows companies to cost effectively produce only the quantity needed, eliminating the cost of storage and print obsolescence. Variable data printing means that each piece can be personalized for the end recipient leading to higher value due to increased response rates on marketing and direct mail projects.

Bindery

Amos Communications has a wide range of bindery capabilities in-house. These range from 3 ring binder production to laminating to die cutting. This means that a project normally requiring several suppliers can be produced entirely at Amos Communications. This increases our control over the quality of the finished piece, lessens the time required for production and lowers the overall cost of most projects. We are able to produce complicated pieces in house, in less time and with lower risk of failure than most of our competitors.

Mailing

In-house mailing capabilities mean that customers have one resource for an entire project, from prepress through distribution. This shortens the overall time required since finished pieces can be prepared for mailing while the rest of the project is being finished. Projects do not have to be completed and shipped to simply sit and wait to be entered into the mail house’s production schedule. Often, several separate mail lists are combined in generating a universe of intended recipients. If the lists contain any duplicate names, the total list required for mailing may be less than the total quantity of names in the combined lists. If the lists are ready before projects are printed, we can ensure that only the quantity needed for mailing gets produced. The added cost is usually hidden since mail houses often discard extra printed pieces without notifying the customer. By presorting, CASS certifying and applying a barcode to each piece, we ensure that our customers receive the lowest possible postage rate and lowest total project cost.

Storage/Fulfillment

Companies often have a desire to produce higher quantities than immediately needed to receive better per piece pricing, but do not have the resources to store and track inventory at their locations. Amos Communications can store and track items for our customers and ship them out when needed. We also have the capability and resources to complete project and kit assembly when required. This saves our customers the cost of hiring staff as well as the cost of maintaining space to complete such tasks.

Administration/Customer service

Amos Communications’ front office and customer service people are courteous and helpful. We try to understand each customer’s unique needs and make adjustments to our processes to meet those needs. When possible, we make corrections to files or projects without charging for them. When we do have to charge, we make sure our customers understand and agree to the charges before proceeding with the project.
